As part of the group Mexican Non-regulated Financial Institutions of Multiple Objectives (SOFOM-ENR), APOYO APU provides a series of advantages for the established business owners as well as for entrepreneurs looking for options in a marketplace with many inflexible and high-cost traditional banking. In Mexico, most of those banking institutions are not local; we feel sometimes their business models and practices are more suitable for the economic realities of other countries and regions. This is a niche of opportunities for us.
The Mexican market needs financial institutions with business models and practice that are more flexible, with dynamic propositions presented by businessmen willing to listen to creative points of view, and assess them using strict risk evaluation methodologies.

According to the Mexican legislation, a SOFOM-ENR can only lend funds coming either from its owners or from institutional investors (private equity funds or international financial institutions, for example) but it cannot use depositor’s money to make loans.
